Flight carbon calculator
Simply add up the number of hours you flew, and then you’ll know how much CO2 emissions you need to offset. Emissions calculations are based on a fuel-efficient B737-8200 aircraft with 84% load factor (84% of seats filled by passengers, which is the 2023 average, source: IATA), using solid science and data-driven methodologies. This also works as a flight carbon calculator, just insert the number of hours flown. Older aircraft and lower load factors will result in a higher carbon footprint per passenger; our technology goal is to work with airlines to show the exact emissions from every flight taken. Rest assured, you’re doing the right thing and making a significant, measurable impact today.
Flight shame or flygskam is an anti-flying social movement, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of aviation. It started in 2018 in Sweden and gained traction the following year throughout northern Europe. Flygskam is a Swedish word that literally means “flight shame”. The movement discourages people from flying to lower carbon emissions to thwart climate change.
